Statement regarding Brad Halbrook Endorsement
Chairman | For The Good of Illinois PAC
We are proud to support Shelby County Republican Chairman, Brad Halbrook.
When Halbrook is not with his family or growing his business, he is building the county Republican Party. Halbrook’s decision to build a competitive Republican Party stems from the local elections in 2004 and 2006. In those years, no local Republican candidates were even slated. Halbrook became Chairman and succeeded in flipping Shelby County from blue to red. Republicans won the Board Chairman and the States Attorney races. This feat had not been accomplished for 30 years.
I ran for Governor of Illinois to make a difference. Even though I didn’t win the primary, I didn’t stop in my efforts to find better leaders. I founded For The Good of Illinois PAC to help candidates challenge the status quo Illinois political class.
Last November, For The Good of Illinois PAC backed downstate senator Kyle McCarter (R-Lebanon) as he defeated a Chicago Machine candidate; provided critical early support for downstate businessman Sam McCann (R-Carlinville) as he defeated the 36 year Democratic Demuzio dynasty for the state senate; and endorsed downstate Dwight Kay (R-Glen Carbon) as he beat 18 year incumbent, personal injury lawyer Jay Hoffman for state representative.
Across all of Illinois, I help bold, independent Republicans beat status quo candidates.
Based on our experience, many citizens across Illinois support our efforts. The citizens of the 110th will support Brad Halbrook for the same reason that I support him. Halbrook will be a better representative of the citizens than his opponent and his “sponsors”.
Brad Halbrook is running against a long-time political insider making over $283,500 at taxpayer expense. Please see for yourself, here. The Chicago Teachers Union, the Illinois Federation of Teachers, and the Illinois Education Association have directly “sponsored” this opponent with over $153,392 in campaign cash since 2001. This is why the opponent generally promotes higher taxes, higher spending and increased bureaucracy. For examples, please click here.
