Statement on Sen. John O. Jones petition packet:
“Sen. Jones can’t expect to primary a good Republican like Sen. Kyle McCarter with a petition packet that shows an alleged pattern of signature forgery. In addition, Jones’ packet didn’t meet the legally required number of signatures. We encourage the state Inspector General to follow up on the alleged ethics violations. Sen. Jones decided to drop out rather than fight the allegations.
I’ve made a decision to be on the forefront of sounding the clarion call as to what it will take to bring Illinois back. The people of Illinois deserve the truth. If you don’t have golden ethics, you’re part of business-as-usual. I’m going to call that out every time.”
